Planning your Business

Direct Sales >> Getting Started in Direct Sales >> Planning your Business

Now that you have determined your "Why", and have set your income goals, its time to start a business plan and put it into action.

What is a Business Plan?

A business plan is the income producing activities necessary to meet your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals. This also includes the time and assistance you need to accomplish those goals. Basically, these are the things you will do to make money in your business. Every direct sales company is a little different, but some of the most popular ways to make money are:

It is suggested that when just starting out to only focus on one or two of these methods and commit to them for a minimum of 6 months. After this period of time you will reevaluate, and see what was working for you (and throw out everything that isn't). Once you have one aspect of your business established, you may choose to add a new outlet to make even more money with your business.

Your business plan will encompass everything from Finding your "Why", and setting your business goals. Use the following steps to determine your Business Plan:

  • Clarify in your own mind and in writing your "why" for building your business. (See Finding your "Why")

  • Determine the monthly income you need to transform your "Why" into a reality, and set up a daily/weekly plan to achieve those income goals.
    (See Setting Business Goals)

  • Determine the income-producing activities necessary to earn your target income amounts each month and the knowledge, time and assistance you need to accomplish them.

  • Create a weekly action plan that includes those activities.
(Put your List of Contacts to work!)

  • Schedule daily actions (no matter how small you may think they are!)

  • Take action. "The first two letters of 'goal' are 'GO'"

  • Persist! "Successes seem to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go."

  • Know where to go for assistance and never hesitate to ask for help.

-->Once your Business Plan is established start to make your List of Contacts, and put your Business Plans into ACTION!
